if you want to wide shots and one's you've zoomed in on, something like 18-300 would be best. If you haven't got one, could you take two that cover the same range between them?
Sorry the question was a little vague!
Out of the following ,which one would you take for general use, the Kelvingrove, along the riverside,in the pubs/cafes/restaurants,on the streets.-(Canon50mm f1.8) - (Tamron24-70f2.8) - (Canon24-105f4) - (Tamron70-200f2.8) - (Canon70-300f4) - I am going for a birthday celebration, so I don't want to be loaded down with tripod's,filters, and certainly no flashgun! I don't have one of those phones that Spielberg uses!!
The Canon 24-105 f4 would be my choice - a decent wide angle and zoom and reasonably fast. The ISO settings on modern cameras will enable you to get pictures in fairly low light without needing flash. The Tamron 24-70 f4 would be my second choice and there's no way I'd take only a fixed focal length lens or one with a minimum focal length of 70mm.
one of the 24s, probably - it should give you group shots, shots of a restaurant interior etc. Longer lenses aren't always great in low light. Does your camera have a built-in flash at all? That would probably be adequate for photographing diners fairly close up.
Thanks all.
Andrew1707 that was terrible!
Drouthys will probably see a bit of me,so will Kelvingrove.
I'm sure I shall enjoy Glasgow;I always do.
Cheers
