Wifi Calling On Iphone

I have this set up on my iPhone SE, but sometimes it vanishes from the top left of my phone. When it's vanished, I can barely make phone calls- they are glitchy and often I get cut off. Even if I switch off wifi and use my data, my phone calls still dissolve into nothing. Wifi calling is the only way I can make a secure call, but how can I stop it from disappearing from my phone! Also is it the fault of my phone set up, or Plusnet?!

When using your Wi-fi are you near the hub??? For example my hub is in my front room & wifi is OK in there and the dining room next door and the bedroom above. But anywhere else in the house it struggles at best

Yes the router is in a cupboard right outside my room, about 5 paces away! It is behind a cupboard door but should that matter?
