Let’s be honest about this ,there is more to answerbank than is on the surface,personal letters,cards,emails between members,which really means there
is a tendency to band together against non clique members,granted not all but there is some who have “friends “ who are moderators,and therefore can get away with a lot that they shouldn’t.
I don’t include mr Hughes,or jack the hat in this.

Erm, how is that meant to work then?

Let's say that I spot an offensive post from someone who (unbeknown to me) happens to be a personal friend of another moderator. I'm obviously going to remove that post, so their association with a fellow moderator won't help them one bit.

JB9's conspiracy theory only holds water if someone who makes an offensive post here is a personal friend of EVERY moderator on this site (AND if those moderators are ALL unprepared to delete something posted by a friend). Otherwise it simply doesn't make sense.

I agree with you, Chris. I don't think this is a moderation issue per se. It's more of a cadre-forming substratum which treats this site as little more than their WhatsApp group. Why they don't just form a WhatsApp group and be done with it is, obviously, because no-one on this site would know about the cabal, and that wouldn't do at all!

In the over 10 years I've been on here I have witnessed it happen twice, once this year and the first time a few years back. Others saw it happen on both occasions and it was commented on at the time.
