We have a pathetic bulb in our garage which cast hardly any light. A relative of mine has told me that you can now buy strip lights which will fit into a bayonet socket light fitting. I have looked on the internet but cannot find anything like that.
You don't say what power bulb you have at the moment. You can get high-power LED bulbs (200w equivalent or greater); they would increase your light level without risking overheating the fitting.
I didn't look at the reviews for that particular bulb; I was just pointing out that high-output LEDs are available. We have had conventional-looking LEDS in our dining room for a few years now, which are about 150w equivalent, made by philips.
I'm messing about Og because I can't replace existing with LED striplight by myself and I'm trying to avoid having to find and pay for a decent electrician.
Well, I will get a decent bulb, Woofgang. I was just hoping that someone would be able to tell me that I could get a strip light that fitted into the existing light socket.
