We have local holidays pixie, but not called Bank Holidays. Maybe banks do close, would have to check, but for schools, local authority departments, stores etc it's business as usual.
Unlike the rest of United Kingdom, most bank holidays are not recognised as statutory public holidays in Scotland, as most public holidays are determined by local authorities across Scotland.
You're right teacake - here too. Went into an area of Dundee which used to have 4 banks looking for a cash machine. All closed - had to drive a few miles to find one. Quite sad.
Thanks, again, Maggie. They are, teacake, although with so much online banking, that isn't surprising. Our local one does seem to open and shut spasmodically through the week.
Just off to get a bit of fresh fish and Ink cartridges and I will be doing the same until Tuesday Teacake. Roads will be chokka here all weekend(N.Wales.) and the restaurants and watering holes rammed. No fun at all. The weather looks good, so sit in the garden and gargle in peace with the sport on.
