I am currently looking for a new car, but with the insurance of such car to be in category 8 or less. I know the general trend of the insurance categories is the power of the car, but are there any relatively poweful cars in lower categories of insurance (i.e. 10 or less).

I would be grateful to know of any such cars, thanks, Alex.

I took a quick look on the web, the best I found on Parkers was the Seat Arosa. for the 1.4 Sport or even the 1.7 the insurance is a maximum of group 5. Such a small and light car of its calibre should fly with one of those engines in!

I was already aware of the Parkers website, but thanks for suggesting it anyway. Becasue the insurance groups are made of a number of factors, I am only interested in power.

So thanks for the Seat 1.4/1.7 suggestion. I was looking through P/R/S reg cars and found 1.8 Peugeot 306, and Vauxhall Astra 1.6's to be also in insurance group 5. In group 7, found a 1.8 Astra 16v Sport (R reg) with AC & Renault Laguna 1.8 RT Sport (P reg).

Thanks for answers, Alex.
Any particular year or brand/model you are looking for, cos i have access to them at work so if you have anything in mind im happy to look for you?
