How To Copy Contacts List From One Mobile To Another?
13 Answers
Help desperately needed please. I'm trying to copy my contacts list from an old iPhone G3S to a Samsung Galaxy. The nice man in the Vodafone shop said I could do it from the Vodafone website. Well he might be able to but I can't. A step by step instruction list aimed at a 5 year old would be most useful if someone would be so kind. Thank you.

Using iCloud is possibly the simplest. You can either make use of Samsung's dedicated app

or make the transfer via your PC. See here:

If you don't want to use iCloud you can use iTunes on your PC instead. Export your contacts to iTunes following these instructions:

Then you can export the contacts using the Samsung app above.

Thank you mamya but I'm not sure. Those that get only one * I shall ignore but I might get around to trying the last suggestion but not sure I know what I'm doing. For a start how do I now which Samsung Galaxy I've been given? Can't see a a clue looking at it and the person who gave it to me can't remember as it's oldish.
Do you ever wish you'd never started something?

^^^ Mamyalynne's link is one of many available which tell you about the possibility of using iCloud or iTunes but which then go on to tell you how much easier the task is if you download the software which the site is actually seeking to promote. I'm always wary of such downloads as they might demand a fee to get the software to do its job and/or they could introduce malware onto your computer.

Method 1: Visually

Method 2: Read the label
(It should be underneath the battery when you take it out)
Method 3: Ask the phone
(Go to 'Settings' and see if 'About phone' is an option there)

Thank you so much M and Chris. I have had a look on your link to identify which model it is Chris. Not easy. Possibly the SIII or S3. The screen shape and position of buttons etc matches but the screen is 4.3". So I'm thinking it is a Galaxy S3 mini. I did as you suggested and eventually found my way to Setting and About Phone. The model number is given as GT19-300 Robert Davies which isn't on the list.
As I wasn't given a charger, the chap at Vodaphone sold me one, that doesn't fit. So I am running out of charge and have to go down there again tomorrow to get one that does fit. I cannot face anymore of this today, been messing with it since 4pm, on and off and achieved sweet FA.
Tomorrow I will try again but thank you again both of you.

A quick web search for 'samsung GT19-300' confirms that your phone is an S3 model.
You don't need a dedicated charger for a Galaxy S3. You only need a USB socket (such as the one on your PC or built into the chargers for many other devices), together with a lead with a USB plug on one end and a microUSB plug on the other. Many 'discount' shops sell them for a pound or two.
