And breath. New neighbours moved in. Seem very nice I've introduced myself and so did they.
They have an awful lot of noisy visitors coming and going. The other night at 11 pm. Anyways earlier after about 4 visitors arrived very loudly I had to say something to the effect of could you ask your visitors to be a bit quieter. The other night it was very noisy at 11 pm. She was very apologetic and said she was sorry. I blew her a kiss and she did likewise. I hope that's the end of it. It's always been quiet where I live. What have you had to say to your neighbours for misbehaving ?

Well done, tamaris. If you had let noisy visitors go by without saying anything it could have been seen as the green light for such behaviour to continue. It was a reasonable request.

My neighbours re just through half way on an 8 week building programme to add an en suite, remove the old bathroom and extend their kitchen. The noise has been unbearable at times. For days we had to have the sub-titles on the tv so we could read the lunch time news!

Tree stripper, wood chipper, every type of saw/drill you can imagine, angle grinders, cement mixers etc. They have worked at weekends and on the bank holiday. The neighbours have spent over 3 weeks away and left the foreman the key. I have had to get vehicles/items removed from outside my property to allow car exit! Not a happy bunny. I have kept my powder dry, for now ...
When did they move in?
Start the way you mean to go on Tamaris, and harmony will be yours
In reality they can't control how noisily people arrive.

11pm is the cut off point where people are expected to keeps the noise to a minimal.

Choux you have my sympathy
I've always been blessed with good neighbours
Only once for me and that was when some students moved in. They didn't last long.

Nothing to do with me, I assume the landlord was hounded by the neighbours on the other side. I know these neighbours well!!
We have new neighbours moving in soon. I just hope they haven't got a cat.
I’ve had very noisy neighbours who drove me nuts. I lived in a house with very thin party walls, through which you could hear a microwave ping.
The problem was their screaming, shouting and worst of all their music. From 5am Elvis blaring out. I put a note through their door asking them to keep it down. The man banged on my door demanding a physical fight with my partner.
Eventually our shared landlord chucked them out.
Tilly, I’d prefer a cat as a neighbour than my nightmare ones.

What a bad experience cloverjo.
Yes I'd prefer a cat than a noisy neighbour
11pm? That's early!

I moved into my house on the edge of Sheffield at 3am, with a mate and I manhandling furniture up the steps and shouting out "Up your end a bit", etc. My new neighbours were very good about it ;-)
