What influenced the shape of the first Aston Martin DBS?

I think that the DBS (distinctive 4 headlamp grille, squarer-shape) was aimed at the American market .....

so, at the simplest level the American market / America influenced the design .........

at a more complicated level ........ the car had similarity in lokks to some of american sports cars (mustang, corvette) - its competitors!

I do not know of any specific influence, but in general the William Towns designed DBS was a departure from the usual European styling towards an American Muscle Car look.
