It's rather worse than that, Naomi. The Benn Bill forces the PM to ask for an extension until Jan 31st, but if the EU demands any other date then the PM must accept that date "within two days" providing Parliament approves it. In other words the implicit aim of the bill is to keep is in the EU forever.

Just wondering, maybe someone who has read the whole thing can clarify. This A50, does it allow for an extension if agreed by all other member nations, or does it allow any number of them, one after another, ad infinitum ?
