Christmas Market In Vienna
Can anyone recommend any hotels near the Christmas markets in Vienna please?

As you'll see, there's a cluster of them around St Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom), which is at the bottom right of square C3 on the map.

If you're seeking budget accommodation, I note that Pension Neuer Markt is shown as being far cheaper than many of the other hotels in that area but is still well reviewed. It's very close to the cathedral:

I have stayed at the kaiserin elisabeth - lovely, centrally located hotel with friendly staff and good breakfasts. It’s not cheap but nor are other hotels in the cathedral area
It’s very central for public transport which is very reasonably priced and an excellent system. I think when we were there in May we paid about 17 euros for a week’s unlimited travel on buses, underground and trams

I have also stayed at this hotel in Budapest. I can’t recall much about it other than that it was very centrally located (very near the river and main shopping area) and was much cheaper than the larger chain hotels in the vicinity and the staff were very helpful
