I can't pass comment on the Meyers version but I imagine it would be just as beneficial. As for pro's and con's,when we first had the mattress,we thought we might have made a terrible mistake in laying out around 1,000 ,but it didn't take long to get used to it,and that was three years ago! it is superbly comfortable and helps my husband who has bad osteoarthritis--I like it too!.As far as we are concerned it's the only one we will ever want and it comes with a 15 year guarentee!
I don't think your daughter will regret her purchase if she decides to lash out!
Hope this helps.
Both my husband and I have tempur pillows which are amazing. I have had neck problems since I was a tenager and Mr W dislocated his collarbone some years ago. We have both found that te pillows, while strange, give us comforatble nights sleeps and when we go on hols, we take them with us. If we're ever rich enough we would probably consider the mattress but read on!
I have a friend who bought the mattress. She says that it is great for her back problem and her partner loves it but, like me she is in the "hot flushes" time of her life and says that the memory foam mattress is HOT, so much so that for that reason she wishes that she had never bought it!!
I have this months 'Which Magazine', their report is as follows, They're made with layers of high-tech material, called visc-elastic, originally developed for NASA. This temperature sensative foam is attached on top of springs or thick polyurethane foam, and is put only on one side of the mattress.
It takes time to get used to them, because the foam softens in response to body heat, moulding to your shape as you sink into it. It means more of your body is in contact with the mattress.
People who find it painful to lie down in bed should find the Memory Foam comfortable because the body's weight is spread more evenly on the mattresss. But the high surface contact can leave you feeling engulfed by the matttress, you may also find it harder to turn during the night.
The magazine advises to try it out in the showroom first, wear clothing, as near to your night clothes as you can in public, take your partner, lie on the bed and move around, to get the feel of it.
The Meyers Conforma came out as one of their best buys.
