I've managed to get my old name back thanks to a very helpful spare ed. I am dreary Dearie no more.Barsel is back. (Just when you thought it was safe to go out. :-) x
Well its no good, I've got pins and needles in my backside, so I'm off to hunt down some reduced food goods. Should be good going today with not a lot of shoppers about in the rain. :0)
Welcome back, barsel :-) xx
I wish AB would make its mind up about whether accounts can be reactivated or not... it really should be the same for everyone x
When I did, mamya... and for genuine reasons, I was told "it isn't possible". Nothing to do with individual ABers of course, but I think the same rules should be for everyone really xx
My account was reactivated Pixie ( at my request) but for some reason I had to choose another user name , I did but wanted my original one back ,but I could only do this with a different email address and I added the 1 beside the name
It wasn't easy to do Pixie, in fact, I nearly gave up at one point because it just wasn't working. Fortunately, the spare ed was very patient and helpful, so eventually, it worked. Here's something you probably don't know Pixie. When I first joined here, I wanted the username Pixie with a butterfly avatar, how strange is that? Perhaps we were separated at birth. :-) x
I did similar, bobbi, as I was 373 at first. And although it was the previous ed, others were still allowed to reactivate at the same time. Consistency on it would be good xx
Perhaps we were, barsel! :-). It took several attempts at usernames, including numbers, for me, which weren't already "in use".
Welcome back, anyway:-) xx
We have to take these situations case by case, they are not one and the same. Some users forget their old email addresses and some users still have access to their old email account. We determine your identity by your email address or your ability to inform us what email address is associated to a certain account. Other factors such as corresponding remote addresses can help us determine if you are who you say you are as well.
If a user goes "User_Inactive" and then sends us an email request for their account status to be set to "Active" then we are more likely to comply than if a user has been banned or suspended.
Thanks, spare ed... none of that applied to me and I went "inactive" with an email to explain... however, as mamya has said... we have new Ed's now. But at the same time, others were allowed to reactivate then.
I will get over it :-)
Well, we've heard from both Barsel and the Spare Ed about how Barsel's username got restored - but we've still not been told where they met up for the brown envelope to be slipped from hand to hand ;-)
