I've just had some quotes to replace an old combi boiler and the Ideal Isar 35 HE has been recommended as it fits into our cupboard. It is being fitted by Glow worrm who are giving me a 2 year parts and labour guarantee.

Anyone have any comments or advice about this boiler or about condenser boilers generally?

thanks!

Its a Government requirement to fit a condensing boiler now - in an effort to use less energy in homes. They are more complex and some early ones were more prone to failure (than conventional). However in the last 3 years a huge amount of effort has been put into their development and reliability. Don't know about Ideal specifically.
Do not see any problem with this, and it should be reasonably economical. In the early days as buildersmate says there were probs. with the earlier models. Although it may be quite expensive get Glowworm to give you a quote for yearly service and that will include any future parts and labour. Obviously you will get the first year cover, and then may think it not worth paying for future service, but wait till you have a problem ! Cheers Hard@it
