Not sure what is correct category for this query, so here goes.
I have advertised some furniture on Done Deal for sale. I have received an email from someone who is interested and latest response is he is happy to pay asking price. He wont be able to come and see or collect it but will pay through paypal and when I am happy to say money is in my account he will arrange shipping at his cost to Luhansk which is where he is. Does this sound genuine. I have never dealt with selling through done deal or ebay before.
Then this morning got a second computer generated text with similar type of email address wanting to buy furniture.
I am reluctant to proceed.
would be a lot happier if I could do things face to face.
I agree with 'The Builder' probably a phishing excercise for your paypal details. Happens a lot with Gumtree as well. Bet they suggested contacting them by email first?
When you start pushing them they will try to get an apparent deal done by moving you away from 'DoneDeal' and 'Gumtree'.
Thanks for all the answers. I thought it too good to be true.
I shall not be responding to second text and shall just ignore the first one from now on.
It is somethng new to me so thankfully I didn't give out any information.
To be honest I've done OK selling furniture through free ads in my local co op and paid ads in local newsagents think it was £1 per week. You could also put ad in your local paper. At least you can see someone face to face and get £ notes in your hand.
I just paid £170 for a rubbish mattress from Amazon.
The vacuum packed with springs sort. Returning was way too complicated so I gave it away. lol and behold, an email from someone called Lucy apologised for bad deal and offered me full refund.....if I clicked her email link. She’s still waiting, I’m off on a banana boat...
