hc4361, well done for posting that. I read the OP's link and immediately wondered what would have happened had the culprit been less wealthy. Now I know. How easy it is for the envious to claim one law for the rich, etc - and be taken seriously by the rest of the envious. Incidentally, I disagree with the decision in both instances.
I am incredibly rich, and object to being discriminated against.
However, I obey the law, and he didn't, so now he will be fresh meat for Abigail, the broken nosed cell mate.

In these circumstances I don't think it's wealth envy at all (and I think a lot of that goes on) but how many average people would Mr Loophole have been able to get off if they could afford him?
It's clear from both links provided that both rich and not so rich get given delays in sentencing sometimes - I imagine it depends on so many variables as well as your lawyer.
A brown envelope stuffed with money works wonders for justice.
I presume you have no way of proving that in either of these cases?
