We’ve just had fish fingers, peas and a box of very thin fries for our evening meal. It was very nice and very easy to cook and eat. I just thought I’d share that with those who are interested, and even those who aren’t.

I've had a cheese and ham toastie
I had duck breast, spicy cherry sauce, dauphinoise potatoes, broccoli and carrots. I've just waved my daughter off with some left overs for her lunch tomorrow :-)

I like reading about what people have for their dinner.
McDonalds. Quarter pounder meal with Diet Coke, no ice.
Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and a simple salad.

Just back from an unexpected invitation next door for a few drinks before they head off on a jaunt somewhere.
I do feel our fish fingers held their heads up amongst the other meals in tonight’s offerings, nothing terribly inspiring apart from Ummms rather tasty sounding duck.
Maybe tomorrow will bring forth something rather more interesting, I doubt I’ll be here though.
Do grown-ups really eat fish fingers?
I sure do, found some rather tasty tempura battered ones.

The grown ups in this establishment most certainly do. Is there a reason why they shouldn’t?
I eat oodles of fish, but, none with batter or breadcrumbs. Ergo no fish fingers.
Fake news. Fish don't have fingers, the Handfish excepted.

I trawled the net to check.
My epicurean delight tonight will be chips and sausage with peas and some bread and butter to make a chip sandwich or two.
I sometimes have a strong urge for chunky chips cooked in a chip pan :) But I threw the chip pan away when my daughters boyfriend burnt his hand when he spilled the hot fat.
Chip pan? Brings back horrible memories of a previous boyfriend who took his pan of re-re-re[etc]-used pan of fat from place to place. I was so glad to chuck that out eventually.
Still talking about chips, I remember as kid not reading newspapers, but certainly licking a lot of them to get that last vestige of salt, and vinegar, and grease taste off them.

The experts all seem to agree that they need to be fried twice, once at a lower temperature and once at a higher one. e.g.
