Samsung Won't Dial Out

Sorry all, another question about this old phone of mine .....Samsung J5 2016. Yes I know, getting a new one soon. But suddenly cannot call certain phone numbers, it just makes a couple of blips, switches off to screen that will allow me to try again, but strangely some numbers I get through straight away. I have switched phone off and on, switched airplane mode off and on, what else could I try? I am not technical so easy answers please. Thanks all.

Can you reach the numbers on a fixed phone ?
Anything different re them compared to those you can reach ?

Yes the numbers work from a landline....

Perhaps they've blocked your mobile number.

Ha.. No, I tried various numbers including my bank, some worked, some didn't, then a little while later they worked again! Really weird and annoying ... Like a little blip somewhere.

I've experienced that problem when the signal strength at my location has been low, so it could be nothing to do with your phone and more to do with you not being close enough to a phone mast (or perhaps a local mast operating at lower power while engineers work on it).

Similarly, there could be local interference preventing your phone from connecting to a mast. (Make sure that you're not standing close to your computer, printer or microwave oven when you try to make a call).
