Sparklykid in his post below says he’s having fish, chips and gravy for dinner today. I find the idea of gravy on fish very odd indeed but I have a friend who puts the oddest foods together. In that sense she reminds me of Letitia from The Vicar of Dibley. Roast lamb, mint sauce, roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy - all topped with a fried egg; fish, chips and boiled cauliflower; curry, chips and garlic bread. I dread invitations to dinner at her house.

What food combinations do you find odd?

Anybody here mentioned mash banana butties? I often have bananas on toast too.
I so hate bananas. The only thing I really can't eat!
That's a shame NellieMay, they're really good for you.
I know. I have never managed to even swallow a slice. I can't bear the smell of them or the texture, let alone the taste.
I'm not a big pasta fan but I do love bolognese with mashed tatties.
Chips and gravy must be a northern thing, I once asked when darn sarf... in a chippie I can't remember where exactly... but got looked at like I was an alien.

Love banana sandwiches... but banana scollops i think they're called (Banana deep fried in batter) always struck me as an odd combo.
I remember when I was about 11, my Auntie made sliced apple sandwiches for me and cousins. I was quite bemused/ shocked, by this, but after trying it, I liked it, much to my surprise.
