Roger Glover is the main one who came up with the famous Smoke on the Water riff which for many of us was the first riff we learnt to play on the guitar

Yes you're right sorry- Blackmore's riff; I think Glover came up with the title. Anyway Glover is always the bassist I associate with Deep Purple .
