Islamic attitude to sex etc....

Can someone help me understand this apparent disparity? Islam is against any form of titilation or nudity etc, the women have to cover up generally. So why is it ok to murder innocents on the promise of 70 virgins? and why 70? and why virgins for that matter? It seems they spend there life trying to avoid sex and then gorge on it in death, I don't get it!

Although I am not islamic, I was always aware that women cover themselves up because their body is for the eyes of their husband only, as in a respect / honor / obey thing?

The murder and 70 virgins has nothing to do with the way they portray sex or have sex.

I suppose the covering of women might be to avoid 'coveting thy neighbour's wife'.

The promise of virgins might be for 'marriage' in heaven. I think Islamic law (or at least, some version of it) allows Muslims to marry as many wives as they can support, and encourages them to take on as many as they can support.

If that's so (I'm no expert on this), there's not a disparity.

They cover up, like jason said, for their husbands and for many other reasons depending on what sort of muslims they are.
There is also an odd quirk that in some of the muslim faiths the rape of a female not covered in the correct garments is her punishment and therefore the rapist avoids legal punishment! My friend Loay is a muslim, he told me this, before i get any weird come back

God seems to ask men to do some really evil things. It's not just Islam, the old testament has a some nasty examples too.

Makes you wonder whether religions serve god or satan.
I definately don't want to spend eternity with a diety that gives women as rewards to terrorists.

Anyway, it's a religion. You're not supposed to understand it.
You're just supposed to believe it, and make your children believe it, which is easy.
