I doubt she will go anywhere that people might have the temerity to disagree with her.

Beso - The 11000 scientists who signed the document is worth some investigation.
The report is only four pages long and contains no study of the issue.
It is clearly marked as a, "Viewpoint," which you will appreciate is totally worthless.
Why?
As usual it is consensual "science" by
the usual globalist agenda and another great example of how academia has sold its soul to the left, and adapted conformity as the norm.
Other examples are Prof Peter Ridd, sacked from Cooke Umiversity in Queensland Australia for doing real science and going against the conformist mob.
And Prof Noah Carl sacked from Cambridge for the same reason.
It is a prostitution of real science.
After further investigation I refute your comments about Prof Patrick Moore.
Theland, you are just choosing those who match your prejudices and pretending they are doing real science.

The fat remains that warnings of the planet heating from CO2 emissions started in the 1970s. Here we are decades later setting temperature records year after year and you pretend it isn't happening or is a "natural cycle" even though nobody can point to the cause of the supposed cycle.

You will die still denying the science. That day will come soon enough. I am not going to bother arguing with you. People like Greta are the future.
beso, what have you done, or what do you advise us to do, to avert the impending disaster?
beso, the old fart brigade on here just don’t get it. You’re wasting your time.
At personal level, we run our house almost entirely on solar electricity and export even more power back to the grid. I worked in the renewable energy industry for two decades.

To understand my frustration you need to realise Australia has been run by climate science deniers for the past decade. Our current Prime Minister actually brought a lump of coal into Parliament and told people not to be afraid of it.

They have had no energy policy throughout this time and consequently we have some of the highest electricity prices in the western world which is impacting on our production costs. They actively legislate for the benefit of the coal industry and against renewable energy.

Meanwhile Australia has the best solar and wind resources in the world. We could be hosting sustainable alternatives for the energy intensive industries of the world. We have the rich iron ore deposits on the planet and could be making steel without using carbon as the reduction agent like they are starting to do in Germany.

Instead our governments are supporting construction of new coal mines, many of them in prime agricultural land, the kind of land we have limited amounts of.

Our stupid governments are voted in by ignorant fools who refuse to even accept there is a problem and have been convinced that coal mines create jobs at a time when new mines are almost completely automated. I am very tired of those fools.
It would appear some Australians believe that Global warming is a hoax.
This gentleman read out a letter sent to Sky with regard to schoolchildren going on strike. He didn't mince his words. Unfortunately I can't download it and post it here.

This is an open letter read by Alan Jones on Australian Sky News.
It is about young school kids and their hypocrisy when 'going on strike' You can read it and watch the News Item. The letter raises some good points IMO.

beso; could it be that Australia, compared to the cloud-bedecked UK, has more sun than it knows what to do with, & while Germany’s nuclear phase-out is set for 2022, its coal phase-out is set for 2038 — a completely screwed-up sense of priorities.

Germany is Europe’s biggest producer and burner of coal. And, what’s worse, the greater part of it is lignite or brown coal — just about the filthiest fossil fuel there is. Whole swathes of ancient forest are still being sacrificed to allow the opencast mining of this environmental nightmare. Unsurprisingly, the country is the EU’s biggest emitter of carbon dioxide, which has the knock-on effect of undermining attempts to get Germany’s eastern neighbours, especially Poland, to clean-up their smokestack industries.

Meanwhile in Britain, the last coal-fired power station should be gone in the next few years and renewables, including offshore wind, have become cost competitive.
Gentleman? Alan Jones is a 78 year old clueless right wing jerk with a radio talk back show.

He is notorious for offensive rhetoric and stupid statements. For example he suggested that our Prime Minister "shove a sock down the throat" of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Adern. He lost a lot of advertising contracts with that one.

He and the radio station he works for have been repeatedly successfully sued for millions of dollars for defamation.

Here is just one of them from last year. Note what the judge said of his attitude.

//The broadcaster Alan Jones was repeatedly “wilfully blind to the truth” when he made “vicious and spiteful” comments about the Toowoomba-based Wagner family, a court has ruled.

//Jones and two radio stations have been ordered by the Brisbane supreme court to pay more than $3.4m in damages for defaming John, Denis, Neill and Joe Wagner, plus interest, estimated to be about $300,000.//

It is people like him who lead the terminally stupid into voting for our corrupt politicians.
That letter has been doing the rounds since 2018.

That may be so but is is new to me and doesn't make the contents any the less true. imho. All the kids rock up outside schools around here in yummy mummy's Chelsea tractor. I have seen 4year olds being kept amused with Peppa Pig at the dinner table in the local Weatherspoons with their own smart phone. The parents are too busily engaged at staring at their own! Kids do insist on the latest trendy upgrades and are pampered to by their parents.
Whoever put that letter together is talking fact.
Noah Carl ?
.
.Others (in Cambridge uni) justified the decision, arguing that Carl's work relied on "selective use of data and unsound statistical methods which have been used to legitimise racist stereotypes about groups",

oh that Noah Carl !
Noah Carl, accusations, allegations, arguments, Noel facts, nothing proved.
I don't know enough about the science to be able to comment on what is and isn't fact (and for 'enough' read 'anything'), but, even though we're all meant to marvel at this child, is it just me that finds her intensely annoying?
No, deskdiary, it isn't just you. I don't marvel at her either. I think she's being used. Quite shameful.
Seems her tree hugging parents have an agenda.
