My Husband has had what we think is gastric flu, very bad case, but is now on day 10. Should he still feel in pain, off his food(very rare)very weak and tender and be still having the runs?

no he should not still be having the runs!!! get the doc in or phone nhs direct. In the mean time stop food and stick to clear fluids, electrolyte solution from the chemist, not plain water...has anyone else in the family caught it?..is he dehydrated? (pinch skin gently on back of hand, it should spring back flat, if it stays in a peak, make sure that you mention this when talking to the doc/nurse) also probably a sensible precaution to kepp him away from small kids, elderly people and anyone else for whom d and v can be life threatening
you wanna see doctor for that. sometimes gastic infections can result in some form of IBD, which you definately don't want. I'd also recommend a very good probiotic (e.g. not from a supermarket), they call it acidophilus in health shops. http://www.whatreallyworks.co.uk/start/factsheets.
