I’ve just completed a right to work check and have put my first name followed by the name I am known by in brackets - could this affect the process?

Why do you need a right to work check then? You do not need one if you are a UK citizen wanting to work in the uk.

There shouldn't be any complications with that. I wouldn't honestly worry. Many people change names etc. Good luck, with whatever you are going for xx

As long as you put down the name on your identity documents as well as your 'known as' name I can't see there would be any problem.

I can't see it causing any problems. The system will probably check on Ka... first, which should be enough (because you're a British citizen and known by that name on most official paperwork). If you can't be identified the system will look for Ki...

Lots of people use names that don't directly match the ones on their birth certificates but it rarely causes problems (especially if you've already got an 'official' document with a photograph, such as a passport or driving licence, that matches your face to your 'real' name).

The right to work check will find you as a UK citizen OK, no worries.

Thanks all, I completed the application using my legal name but the ‘potential’ employer used the name I’m known by to fill in their bit of the right to work form.
