Hi Sqad, the update: my ear cleared and I continued taking clotrimazole for a fortnight. There is still the pain in my ear at the site so l went to the Dr, who examined it and said she couldn't do anything because there's nothing there to see. Fair enough. But now, there is like a membrane hanging down inside of my ear at the site. I am going back to the drs on Tuesday. It's never been right. :-(

LOL,,,, thanks for the update Hooby, bit of a balls up from the start. That membranous object needs a good "tug"to see what happens and what is behind it. If i could have a look, my comments might make more sense. Keep me informed Hooby, I am intrigued.

Hi Sqad, the 'membrane' looked as if it had moved so my other half got some small sterile tweezers and gently tugged it. Out came a circular film, almost like skin, but he thinks it's dried clotrimazole. He says my ear looks clear inside, but to me it's still sensitive and aches. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Just sounds like desqamation (end result of a long standing infection)
Again I would be interested to look in your ear myself, but sadly that cannot be.
It all looks reasonably satisfactory....so far and I would now sit back and let mother nature have a go for the next month or so.
Thanks again Hooby.

Hi Sqad, well I went to the Dr and she said she was reluctant to give me antibiotic drops in case I get a fungal infection again, so gave me olive oil instead and I'm to see her next week. I know that's for ear wax removal so I don't know what to think. I got the drops over the counter for a couple of pound rather than on a £9 prescription!
