With regard to the comments made my JRS in his radio broadcast, this was debated on here at the time, and JRS was seriously castigated for stating that Grenfell residents 'lacked common sense'.

If you listen to what JRM actually said, he said no such thing, he merely pointed out the common-sense approach based on hindsight, and he was speaking hypothetically about how he would react on the basis on that hindsight, if he were in that situation.
