If your caught using a mobile phone while driving, you will be prosecuted for putting other peoples lives at risk, ( and rightly so) yet its ok to free a terrorist to walk the streets.

good point, but some liberal wishy washy individuals think it's ok to let them go free, i wouldn't, they would be locked up for life.
Just watched a section on Jeremy Vine, no wonder we are in a mess in this country
Cannot be compared really.

We can't turn a blind eye to one crime because another is much worse. The laws need changing to actually suit the crime.
If caught for driving on your phone, do they keep you in prison for ever then?

Do they even put you in prison?

Are you able to drive again after being caught and prosecuted?

^ who was saying turn a blind eye

I don't think you get my point, TD I'm on about putting other peoples lives at risk whatever the level of the crime.
You can prosecute someone for using a mobile phone because the law is clear, and so is the offence, which is clearly visible.

Terrorism is a matter of thought and attitude - terrorists do not 'show up' walking the streets, so it is not possible to prosecute them in a similar manner.

On that basis, your comparison is invalid.
> some liberal wishy washy individuals

Like the murder victims, you mean?
they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, with a man who had murder on his mind. I'm sorry they were murdered, they should be enjoying life and all that is to offer, but their thinking like the father of Jack Merritt is to show they can be rehabilitated which i don't think they can be
some wishy washy politics has got us into an awful mess, it's time that the laws were changed, if Boris gets in and does what he says then good.
His father said that Jack wouldn't want his name used as a reason to bring in more draconian laws.
that may be the case, but i hope that terrorists never get out, like the man who murdered the two innocents.
So do I.

It's just that Jack might have been the wishy washy type you mentioned.
it's quite possible, but that doesn't stop me from being
very very sorry for their loss.
Of course, that goes without saying.

I still don't think some of you understand what I'm trying to say, so I say again. If a mobile phone is a threat to peoples lives, when used driving ( and it is) how come they seem to think that a terrorist walking the streets is not. :0)
The Authorities could always put signs up ..
'No Terrorist allowed beyond this point '..
That might work ?
