Did anyone else hear weather forecasts at the start of the month predicting August was going to be hotter than July ? Or did I imagine it?

Some of it could well be, I always think that August is the month for storms, and its normally baking before they come.
You didn't imagine it, and I feel cheated to!
has it been the coldest august since records began??
Wonderful subject the British weather don't you think?
August....height of summer....cooler than usual
January.....middle of winter....warmer than usual
Global warming? Mediterranean climate?? Hosepipe bans due to lack of water. Farmers complaining about everything as per usual.
Fascinating stuff........who really knows what's going on?
I heard that but August is increasingly rubbish. We got married in August 2 years ago and clearly remember the torrential rain!
do you know what they say they cant do very long range forcasts well bu**** me they cant even get one day right most of the time
I live in Devon and each quarter year a gentleman by the name of Bill Tanton does his forecast on BBC Radio Devon and has done so for the last 40 years. He has an accuracy rate of some 85% over this period.
His forecast is that for the summer quarter(until mid September)was that it would be drier(not necssarily hotter)than the last 2 years with outbreaks of thunderstorms. So far he has been spot on.
Now if you live in that area this is fine bot otherwise you may have someone similar on your local BBC Radio.
