Hello

I own a flat that is lease hold. The private estate is managed by a management company. The management company had decided that that are going to take away our communal external letter boxes and replace them with 1 letterbox than posts letters to inside the communal areas of the property.

Originally, the management company asked that a majority YES vote must be obtained before this can happen.

Only 30% of the residents voted (I don't know how many were YES votes, I know definitely not all of them)

Does the management company have the right to install these letter boxes without the majority consent and if yes, do they have the right to sent the bill for the new letterboxes to the tenants?

Thanks to anyone with an opinion!

Check your leasehold agreement. It says in there what they can and can't do. It's somethinmg that you've signed so abide by it.

Thanks, I'll check the leasehold agreement !!
I would have thought a flat is a private address and as such is entitled to a personal mail delivery to it's own door or private drop-off point.ie exterior/interior letterbox for each flats sole use.. The issue of security of your personal correspondence also arises if the potman just dumps everything in the same communal box.
