How Can I Attach This

to my tree. This isn't the actual star - just wanted to know how can I attach the "spring" bit. have tried string, blue tac but the star keeps falling down.

With difficulty JJ, especially if yours is as large as that one (8.5"),

Try folding the top spike of tree over and coaxing it into the spring, but it may still topple with the weight.

So you push the top of the tree into the coil bit - what happens, is it too heavy?

You may need to cut a bit off the tip of the tree so it isnt too flimsy, it should then sit on the top with a twist or two to help it grip the tree.

Buy a Nordmann Fir living tree and it will stay at the top of the strong, central stem.

I bought a similar star (much smaller one from Ebay some months ago) but it is too small for the tree.

I found one of my own in the attic and it is a better size - I have shoved everything up it - you know some twigs etc but keeps falling down.

OMG - I have been at this tree for 3 days, you know transferring plugs from sets of lights to others, have adorned the tree with such loving care, lights, and gold balls all neatly assembled on the tree. Some bright spark here may have a wee idea. LOL

And I got the decorations after climbing 6 feet into my attic on a ladder and with a torch. Haven't been in the attic for years and did think I had far more decorations but alas don't.

Is the metal pliable enough for you to pull it down into a corkscrew type shape?

Don't try if it's tough or if you are worried about spoiling it.

If you can then this method may work.

that was a good link Mamy - the corkscrew of my topper is quite tough but perhaps I could stretch it somehow. that link of the star was for a real tree tho

would you know how I can make the corkscrew a little more pliable - think that could work.

I don't JJ, that one obviously comes like that - there must be a way to adat yours I'm sure.

I have a very inebriated fairy perched on mine just now, she needs straightening up.

well the old one was just old so I threw it out. the new "tiny" one - I just placed/shoved it between branches and it has sat ok. In the meantime if I see anything else - I'll get it. Mamy - hope your fairy gets sober soon. LOL

garden cane tied into the tree behind the main stem before you do it fix the star securely first by pulling the spring downwards to narrow the diameter. And taping it with clear tape.
