Does anyone know the name of the shop at 54 Park Street (between Littlewoods and the Priory Hotel) BEFORE it became McDoanlds in about 1981? And did it have any other names in the period 1972-1982?

Wasn't McDonalds a new build, can't remember what it was they demolished to build it though.

Have you tried Googling the address. There may old photos in the 'images' section of links to local history sites.

I think I've remembered what was there now, I think it was Woodhouses furniture shop.

A chance find in the Photo Archive of the Express & Star! It was Woodhouse (and yes, we believe it was a furniture shop).
