Why Do All Modern T V Shows Lead With Their Own Spoilers?

I'm watching the RVP but it applies to almost every TV program these days. The words "coming up" nearly cause me to put by boot through the telly. Why are we never allowed to just be surprised by what's about to be on? Why? Must all programs pre spoil? Are they worried the audience will turn over? what's the thinking behind this phenomenon?

Cuts out the amount of new programme, cheaper. I hate it after an ad break they tell us what weve just seen as if we've forgotten in those couple of minutes.

I love spoilers. When they say 'Coming up next time on --------' or 'Next week on -------' If it looks good, I look forward to watching it. I don't like surprises. Having seen what's coming up on Corrie at Christmas, I might give it a swerve.

What iritates me is the pointless, short, out-of-focus sequences that so many programmes use.
