and I believe it's on the Beeb news in a few minutes - what the hell did the truck driver think he was doing?

Apparently Elly Goulding was involved in getting him to stop.

i watched it any number of times and wonder how the idiot didn't notice the car... could have ended so badly
It's quite easy not to see something, or someone, that is up close to the front of such a large truck. I am inclined to believe the truck driver when he said that he didn't see the car being pushed along the road by the truck. The question is: did the car driver make a mistake that put him in such a dangerous position?
Was that the car being pushed by the lorry? I saw that happen on the M25 once over by the Dartford bridge.
according to the news just now, the lorry drove for more than a mile all the while not noticing the car

you aren't close to there are you, emmie - could have been veritable carnage..imagine if it had been under the Hangar Lane Gyratory.....
When I saw it happen it was because I heard the frantic beeping of the horn by the small van driver who was being pushed by the lorry. I was on the approach to the Dartford tunnel (south side) and the lorry with van was approaching on the slip road. The lorry driver obviously didn't see a thing. Probably found out at the toll booth as I don't think they are wide enough for vans to go through sideways )
no i live more centrally near KX

an old colleague of mine in the States lost his wife and son in an accident along i10 in Louisiana, one of those 'double-trucks' coming back into the near lane and didn't even realise or feel he was there, the car dragged for a mile and a half before the truck driver was flagged down to stop.....his daughter was also brain-damaged but has made a remarkable recovery but not complete.....
terrible ^^
I imagine he couldn't see the car once he'd made contact, it's quite low. But how he missed him before he made contact, I couldn't say.
It's a wonder they don't hear the horn continually being blown.
Very very lucky escape, one would need to see the very start of the incident to comment much more.
Word is the car was undertaking and in the lorries blind spot
Very scary. So glad driver wasn't physically hurt.
