We live in the Manchester area, and we are having a visit from a lady in her twenties from Korea who we met a couple of years ago when we visited Seoul, she is only staying for a few days and has never visited England before, I've been racking my brains trying to think of places of interest to take her to visit. Has anyone got any suggestions. Thanks.

maybe some things that are seen as quintessentially English- what about Chester?
why not take her to the trafford centre do abit of shopping then take her for a meal, other than that take her to the lowery and around salford keys
if you can't travel far take her out to the peak district, to bakewell, matlock etc - beautiful countryside and pretty little english villages. There's also blackpool, which has lots to do.
For anyone visiting england for the first time, bus tours are great - the one in Bath and London I'd highly recommend (bath is quieter for a great english day out, but london has the best sights!) or cambridge for a bit of punting on the river.
It doesn't take so long by car up to the Lake District from Manchester, under 2 hours to Windermere.
Southport is a little more refined than Blackpool, and Formby Sands just down the coast is lovely for a picnic. ( I love Blackpool but it can be a bit rowdy for some people)
Everyone has heard of The Beatles so Liverpool may be of interest.
Knutsford for lunch with a trip up to Jodrell Bank in the afternoon is great if she's at all interested in that sort of thing.
I suppose it all depends on the weather and also if you're driving, using public transport etc, how far you're willing to travel and how much you want to spend?
Why not take her to Quarry Bank Mill? It's close to Manchester any a super example of National Trust and beaitiful countryside. It's got nice parkland and a good restaurant for a welcome break.Dunham Massey is another great place to visit too.
Take her to the Museum of Science and Industry - it places Manchester in a very international context and shows how important it is in world history.
If she is in her twenties she may enjoy Urbis.
Liverpool is a good day out with the Tate for modern art and the Walker for other cultural goodies and show her the 2 cathedrals.
Go for a walk at Hollingworth lake or up Rivington Pike or Alderley Edge.
Go to the Printworks and see a film and go for something to eat or drink there too.
You could nip over to York for the day and North Wales is near enough for a day out.
Blackpool is like no other place on earth and should be a memorable day out no matter what.
How about an overnight stay in Llandudno? Plenty B&B's and wonderful views from the Great Orme over to Snowdonia
take her to london & put her on a red bus for a couple of hrs
Take her round the wonderful farnworth, where the sun is always shining and the people burst into song at any minute! at the heart of farnworth is a fabulous shop called asda which sells all manner of goodies and if you go on a monday there is a 5 stall second-hand market and if you're very lucky the meat auction man could be there!

otherwise take her to the M.E.N. arena if there is something good on, or to Urbis, write to granada and see if they're filming anything good you could be in the audience for. go to southport for the day.
You must do the tour at Old Trafford fascinating even if your not a football fan.
I had a friend in her 20's visit me from Germany earlier this year. I live in Oldham and took her to Blackpool, Howarth, Holmfirth and the Trafford Centre. She especially enjoyed Howarth and going around the Bronte museum. I also took her to the cinema which was an experience for her - watching a film in English and hearing the actor's real voices.

Hope you have a good time whatever you end up doing.
