yes YMB, they've concentrated on spite rather than beating him at the ballot box. Standard left wing behavour.
The act of impeachment is serious. The charges of this impeachment are not.
The impeachment circus is exactly that.

There are a few reasons why Pelosi has opted to impeach (with full knowledge that it will not pass the Senate).

Firstly she thinks that she can cut Trump's campaign precense by keeping him shackled in a senate hearing. This unfortunately backfires since many of the Democratic front runners are also senators who will similarly remain chained.

Secondly, she thinks that they can use the impeachment process as a means to affirm that Trump is corrupt and guilty (notwithstanding the evidence being starkly against this finding) merely by virtue of the trial, and can claim that the Republican senators are morally bankrupt by voting against it, inevitably riling up some drive in the democratic base. This also will likely backfire as it will ultimately rile up Trumps base equally, as well as alienating moderate voters who are sick of the Trump derangement syndrome of the political climate.

Thirdly, this is the last ditch attempt to try and stop Trump from taking a second term which if they aren't completely delusional looks very likely considering the democratic opposition, with "Sleepy" Joe Biden looking like the biggest threat.

Regardless, saw many lefties on twitter with no clue about what impeachment actually means proclaiming they'd stopped drumpf once and for all. Ultimately Trump looks set to fly into a new term. I wonder if the media can keep up their tirade for another 4 years.
