I know this should be a simple calculation but I seem to have a dose of Brain Rot and could do with some help.

Frankie has tablets to take each day, he takes (reluctantly) two tablets each evening. He has enough for four weeks, is this -

2tabs x 7days x 4weeks = 56 left?

If he was to be given 1.5tabs daily how many more days would I be able to spin them out for?

What about alternating 1.5 & 2.0 tablets daily.

I am allowed to reduce the dose to the lowest level that works.

He hates going to the vet and I have nobody to take him. I am feeling awful just now and if I can make the tablets stretch to January it would be a massive help.

1.5 per day would give you an extra week.
sorry - an extra 9 days
56 tablets divided by 1.5 per day is 37.333 days. Compared to 28 days, that's 9.333 days more.

56 / 3.5 = 16 pairs of days or 32 days. 5 days more.

Now I'll post this and immediately see the deliberate mistake.
56 x 1.5 = 84 days
I make it 37 days if you change to 1.5 or 32 if you alternate
Having a bad day.

Thanks, I will ponder.

Anyone now how to obtain Prednisolone on the black market?
:-)
Probably need to search the dark web !
Why not phone and ask if they can renew it without seeing him?
Have you thought about asking Blue Cross or animal charity near you if they can help. Is it the cost or being able to get repeat prescription without going to vet. Could you vet post perscription to you

The main problem is that when I'm ill (Bipolar) my brain seems to shut down and I am incapable of organising a trip to the Vet.
The drugs are relatively cheap but money is not an issue anyway.
I can't think think things through these days
I am away to hide under the duvet with Frankie.
Phone your vet, have a chat, bet he can help :)
If you can get a prescription from your vet for either three or six months, many of the online pet pharmacies will post your order out to you monthly.
I do as Lankeela says - post a prescription from the vet to the animal medication company I use, it's always for 90 days with my dog, then just order online. It saves trips to the vet and works out cheaper for us.
