What is the best way to remove vinyl tiles from a kitchen floor and get rid of the adhesive

I would reckon its virtually impossible to get the adhesive off. If the surface is sound, why can't you use the vinyl base to put the new floor on top of that.

thanks buildersmate - I was asking for a mate and that's what I suggested but she was sure there was a way
what are you going to put down now ? if laminate leave the glue. if carpet leave the glue . if tiles 2 coats of unibond follow directions on the tub then lay the tiles on top.
