Not wholly convinced but it's the Skeleton, so I'll try -

'tie' (secure, housing) 'went' (fitted) (over - in a down clue) 'Th(orium)'

Eg in a jigsaw - "the piece went/fitted perfectly"

Actually the 'over' (in a down clue) doesn't apply here as 'went' remains as it is.

It's a terrible clue and I'll stop going on about it, but 'went' isn't above the Th(orium) it's inside it - along with the 'tie'.

I'll shurrup now.
