RIP Neil (he pulled me up on stage once at a Bonzo concert back when I was a student, one of the most toe curling and embarrassing events of my life, I was so painfully shy back then).

I bet you were good though, Prudie ;o)

John Wayne on Xylophone
The Count Basie Orchestra on triangle
Princess Anne on Sousaphone
Roy Rogers on Trigger
Max Jaffa on violin .......... "nice, Max"
Very sad news, he was a talented, funny man.

RIP Neil.
RIP Neil, a real wit.
" I'm the urban spaceman baby; here comes the twist. I don't exist" anymore unfortunately. A brilliant talent.
Only 75, no age at all these days.

Like Les Dawson, you have to be able to do it really well before you can do it badly - properly. Neil was a natural musician.

This still makes me laugh after all these years.
"My pink half of the drainpipe."
A great contributor to my youth. R.I.P.
Mr Slaters Parrot :-D
The Rutles songs were works of genius. RIP Neil.
It pleased me to find out that Oasis had to hand over royalties to Innes, after owning up to stealing one of his tunes.
Sad news, RIP Neil.
I'll certainly be spinning an Innes tune or two on Lynne's thread tonight.
Ha yes, Horace Batchelor on percussion. That's spelled K E Y N S.....

Ah yes, Whatever sounded rather similar to How Sweet To Be An Idiot, which, ironically, would be a fitting song for Liam Gallagher to sing.
