Anybody seen the conjunction of the Moon and Venus? Some years ago I saw Venus sitting on the other side of the Moon, within the points of the horns; that was even better.

West Yorkshire. Too cloudy here, Atheist, but I shall keep looking. I believe that the conjunction might be visible for a few days yet, so you never know.
I'll be surprised if you saw Venus "within the points of the horns" of a crescent moon as it would place it between the Earth and the Moon. If Venus was sitting on the other side of the Moon, it would be obscured from view. Venus may have been centrally aligned outside the Moons' sphere, but not vertically.

Clarion; it wasn't right within the points, it was well outside the moon's disc, but it made a lovely symmetrical pattern.
I can see the moon now, very clearly. But I can't see Venus, not even with binoculars. The sun has disappeared behind a cloud bank, and the rest of the sky is clear and blue.

Book...; Yesterday the moon was above and to the left of Venus; maybe 5 degrees apart, a bit of a long way visually, but the alignment was good.
Well I wish I could - it's been solid cloud here non stop since Boxing Day
