Just put this in money and Finance, but thought I'd put it here too.
It says to tick the boxes if your entitled to free prescription, and one of the choices is - if you get NHS Tax credits, is this working tax credit? Am I entitled to free prescription?
I never get prescriptions for myself, so I ticked it today and got a prescription for myself, but because the pharmacist asked me twice did I pay for my prescriptions, I am now starting to really doubt that I am meant to get this free, and now I feel really guilty and feel like I stole my prescription.
working tax credit is not a benefit entitling you to free prescriptions.
Dont worry, its a genuine mistake, call your pharmacy and explain that you made a mistake and offer to pay as soon as you are next near the pharmacy. The prescriptions do get checked and it will be noted if you are claiming falsely.
if you are on tax credits and are eligible for exemption then they send you an exempt card which you need to show in the pharmacy, if they didnt ask for it its their own fault as you shouldnt be able to get the drugs without a card.
