70s French Film

Does anyone remember and know the film that starred Michelle Dotrice who, with her friend, was cycling through France and her friend was murdered. As I recall there was a famous male french actor who was the main suspect. I was a kid when I watched this film and it kept me on the edge of my seat. Never seen nor heard of it since, nor has anyone else who I mention it to. Very atmospheric. Thanks.
