Are you an early bird or a night owl? I can't get to sleep much before 2 am - I watch TV, play on my laptop and read. This means that I rarely get up before 9.30 am which some of my friends think very strange. Of course I was an early riser when I worked full time.

Night owl by nature.
Somehow at my best late at night/early hours but since regaining employment, am usually up about 6 in the morning. Something about being up early appeals to me (ease into the day, watching the sun come up, knowing that I can do something useful, etc) but...
would still be a night owl given the chance.

(and my sleep pattern is knackered....constantly wake up between 3&4 oclock...though I nod off again... leaving me struggling through the rest of the day after dinner)
Wake about 4am until 5.30 am quite regularly. It’s annoying.
Early bird. Bed before 10, up before 6. Don't like dark mornings tho'.

I'm like you Maggie. On the odd occasion when I do get up early, I quite like it, but usually after a couple of hours, I crash. I need to sleep!
Night owl...I need to force myself to get *into* bed before 1am. Usually sleep soundly 2 til 8:30 or so. Sleep is being interrupted though by a restless old dog that wanders and gets stuck in corners overnight. Had to get up for work at 6am and I hated it...though being out was nice sometimes before the day's hustle and bustle.
Definitely a night owl - runs in the family on my father's side. I can work all night quite happily.
I try to be in bed before 10.30pm but it doesn't usually work by the time I've finished titivating my teeth/skin/hair...etc...etc.

I do get up early though. I like to think I'm there if Tilly needs to go outside early on. Love the early mornings., now. I didn't like them so much when I had to get up.

I can sometimes hear my dad's voice in my head "you're missing the best part of the day lying in your bed". He lived til he was 95 and was always an early bedder and early riser. Obviously don't take after him!
For 9 years I had to get up at 5am 6 days a week. I was limited to 12 hour days then. Nearly killed me because I still went to bed late. Now I can do 15 or 16 hour days through the night and suffer much less. I hate mornings.
*hours* not days
Never used to be, but I'm definitely a night owl now. My sleep pattern is almost exactly like yours maggie. I watch the recorded programs, do my quizzes, letters/emails etc. Too embedded to change my ways now. I try not to get up early.:-)
My pattern varies and always has. No idea why
Like others, my sleep pattern has changed since I gave up work. I had to be up at 6 so went to bed about 10 or 10.30. I now go about 11.30, 12.00 and get up about 8.
We've are both night owls since retiring 17 years ago.
Bed usually between 1.30 and 2.00 am. After watching recorded tv programmes, doing umpteen crosswords, sudoku's and an occasional game of scrabble.
Normally up about 9ish in the morning.
For about a year or so now :- 3 am to 9am, then 2pm to 4pm (approx, varies if I have a long day planned)
Night owl.

Some nights I don't go to bed at all.
About the same as you Maggie, except having to go to work on certain mornings which is becoming increasingly more difficult. I'm finding ways and means of making that later and later!
All depends on whether or not i'm working the next day. Just finished a 19 day job (3 bedroom house complete decorating done) and am now taking a couple of weeks off. So, i'll go up to bed as soon as I begin yawning but the walk upstairs serves to waken me up! So I read for a half hour or more, putting the book/Kindle down when the words start moving around the page. Get up whenever I wake - which is usually 8-ish when not working, 6-ish otherwise.
