in the land of the free- probably less than in Typhoid Marys time
she was a typhoid carrier thro colonisation of her gall bladder and could only work as a cook. I think she was confined to the now unoccupied Roosevelt Island off Manhattan. So he house was left derelict for inspection and the standard of her cleanliness was much to be deplored ( hence she infected and killed her employers children).
