Typical valentines day connundrum....
11 Answers
We have been together for a few months now and its obviously coming up to valentines day as everyone knows and i have no idea what to get him, i feel like my christmas girft was a bit disappointing compared to the lovely earrings he bought me and now i am having the same issue again as i have never been very good at buying gifts especially for guys and he tries so hard to buy something perfect for me!
So what can i get him, i know i am leaving it quite late and where i am currently living has very few decent shops for guy things, i just really want something special!
Any ideas??
Thanks

^^^ Blimey, and I thought I was organised! It's only 04th, don't start worrying yet.
It's valentines day so not really a big present giving day as far as I'm concerned, maybe a card with a nice message and a CD or book he really likes. Or perhaps tickets to something you both like/want to see.

yes, much as shops would like you to think otherwise, Valentine's Day is not an occasion for buying things the way Christmas Day and birthdays have become. Time is the best thing you can give him - as it's a Sunday you could have a meal together, take in a show together, go for a walk in the sun/rain/snow, or just spend the day doing, ahem, whatever it is that couples do.
Thanks everyone, i wasn't necessarily looking for getting a big gift as i am not really one for all the valentines day hype as you say jno its not christmas or birthdays which i figure to be more important anyway. I have seen a nice t-shirt that i think his sense of humour would appreciate and am thinking of that as a gift and as much as its not a competition on who can buy each other the nicest gift i still want it to be something substantial but also something practical which he would use. As we haven't been together all that long i think the whole gift getting will become easier the more i get to know him.
Thanks for all your help!

i know what you mean leapers my gifts to my partner always seem lame compared to waht he gets me. We used to go mad every valentines day for eachother but came to realised that its all to commercialised. Know he gets me a bunch of flowers (not roses, as they trebel in price on vals day) and make a card a card, and i quite simply cook him a nice meal and make him one too, the cards go in a memory box and weve had a few good laughs over them lol.
Buying presents for boyfriends is always difficult! We always get each other a small jokey present for valentines as we've usually spent too much over Christmas.. Its the thought that counts and the T-shirt idea sounds good to me. I agree with jno making time for each other is the best thing, I've just bought my boyfriend some naughty playing cards on www.climaticsextoys.com they were only about a fiver and I'm looking forward to a giggle with them on valentines day.
