I would have thought that the Garmin website would give details. Not to mention the product user guide, and possibly CD.

Do you have the Garmin software on your pc? It came with the device. Use the USB lead to connect it to your computer, open the Garmin programme and it updates easily.

I have one, and you can't. It tells me to go to their website for updates & when I do it says there are none - I think the not-so-cunning plan is that we have to buy a new satnav.
My navigator (I call her Gladys) gets her wottsits in a twist when I near any new road alterations, but I always manage.

I have one and I've updated it a few times. Just realised that I didn't transfer the programme to the new computer, need to find the disc! The Garmin website has a section about updating too.

download garmin express - attach your sat nav and it will update you to whatever level you have bought. You can purchase additional maps if you dont have lifetime maps - there are generally 3-4 map updates per year. Find it here

Apologies for my misinformation at 11:55 Fri. It is true that when I went to the website as instructed by them, I was always told there were no updates (I remember Mikey complaining about it too) However going to CaC's website link, I registered and was able to update my satnav, Nuvi 250, a bit expensive at 60 euros. I considered a new satnav, but I'm so familiar with my old one that I think it was a price I had to pay.

I have just updated my discontinued nuvi255 model. First update since new. It took about an hour and half to download. I used Garmin Express and the steps to follow where easy.
