At the recent BAFTA awards ceremony, Prince William spoke of the need for ‘diversity’ - something that was noted to have been lacking in the nominations. The question is, should the Royals take a leaf out of the Queen’s book and remain neutral, or should they, in effect, take sides by involving themselves in the issues of the day thereby exposing themselves to potential criticism? Personally, I think the Queen has the right idea. Her 'Never complain, never explain' philosophy has stood her in good stead for almost 70 years - and she remains hugely respected.
