digital SLR cameras

I'm looking into buying a digital SLR still camera, don't want to pay sky high prices (under �500) can anyone give me feedback on the canon EOS 350D? Is it any good?! i have seen one in jessops for �485....anywhere selling them cheaper??

My son bought one from Jessops about three months ago and I don't think it's left his side yet!

It is fabulous. The picture quality is very sharp, the colours are stunning and he reckons it's very easy to use. He was thinking of a Nikon D50 which is also a great camera, but is glad he went fot the Canon. I think it's a lot to do with preference really adswift. What you want from a camera as well as what sits well in your hand.

It is truely fantastic - just go and buy it NOW and you won't look back - these cameras are the dogs danglers of digital cameras!

The 350D or Nikon D50 are great cameras. Out of these two the 350D is the better one in most ways.

be careful that the price is not just for the camera body
you would then need to factor in lenses, memory cards and other accessories

Also it would perhaps be advisable, depending on how quickly you need the camera, to buy online - if Jessops sell it for �485, it is highly likely you will be able to get a better deal online. I would suggest you try Kelkoo or a similar price comparison site to get at least a feel for online prices first and then do a Google search for other outlets that may not be covered by Kelkoo.

I also agree totally with spat to check what you will be getting for the prices quoted by any company.

This is what's in the box from Jessops online, so I expect it will be the same from their shop - and their after sales service is second to none.

It probably will be a lot cheaper elsewhere, but my lad nearly fell into the trap of a cheap deal, finding just in time it was a 'Body Only' offer.
