Flight Trackers

We've have a marked increase in air traffic over the Norfolk Broads in the last couple of weeks. I've looked on the different flight trackers but they show very little activity.

Which is the best one for me to look at to see what all the noise is about?

Military aircraft are not included in public ADS-B tracking information. For more on ADS-B and flight tracking, see the information from FlightRadar24 and FlightAware. Flight-tracking sites can track military aircraft, but generally don't.

I think that must explain it. Norwich Airport has a limited schedule and is busiest with traffic to and from Scottish gas or oil rigs. None of that would come over the broads area. We're not in the flight path of anything much else passing over the country, so I can only assume its military.

Its unusually busy, I'm intrigued.

I use this if I want to track a flight. Used it for my son and daughter when they were airborne last year. Click on the individual "plane" for additional info on the flight.

Thanks all, tried each of those and they all show us to be plane free. Maybe that is the very reason the military are using our airspace at the moment. Or has it been cleared for them? What special operations?

Thanks for these. Again nothing on your links but lots of activity in the air this afternoon. There is a helicopter going to and fro but its more than that and plenty of jets around.

All of East Anglia is a designated low fly zone for military aircraft, some times seem busier than others maybe thats budget related.

Never been to Norwich before but hoping to visit soon, my stepson has moved there ( work) to a place called Wymondham?

They will be military aircraft ! They do NOT show on flight trackers !!!
The Norfolk Broads are a designated training area for Military pilots and navigators !! The increased activity will be due to an 'Excercise' !

I'm sure you'll enjoy a visit Bobbisox. We'll welcome you with open arms! If you come during the better weather, try to find time for a day visit to the Norfolk Broads too, its so quaint.

Norwich is great for heritage and culture, fab for shopping with lots of variety, good for eating out, and plenty else.

Wymondham, pronounced Windum, is a small commuter town with loads of new housing. A good place to live for easy access to the roads in and out on Norfolk. I do hope your stepson enjoys it and his new job.
