as far as MMORPG goes I would say World Of Warcraft is raining supreme at the moment, some would disagree but it has the most outstanding player numbers in comparison to many out there on the market.

I was seriously addicted to Everquest Online Adventures for a a while (about 9 months). I think it's dies a death now though.

Star Wars Galaxies is very popular as is WoW as EllaBella pointed out.

There is also Eve Online which looks very good.
